He LOVES school, is the last one to leave his after school program, in involved in several extracurricular activities...but once we are in the house, he HAS to know where I am EVERY moment, whether I am upstairs or downstairs, and will even stand on the back porch with no shoes or socks or coat even to watch me take the dog out. My perception of this is that this is how they balance their independence with their need to feel safe and secure with a caregiver. And as you said, I give it 2 maybe 3 more years, and Mommy will be history!
